IF SOUTH AFRICA WAS SUPER POWER…..
When ever a child is born in my family my mother would always comment that ‘the child is fair and beautiful’ or when ever she attends a wedding the bride was 'tall fair and beautiful.’ Ever wondered why the adjectives tall, fair, and slim are always linked to beauty?
When ever i tell a adult that racism exists in India, i am often told that these things exist only in the US and other foreign countries. And if you are somebody who thinks along these lines then go buy newspaper and look at the matrimonial section.
What does it say? WANTED tall, thin, fair, traditional bride with a B.E degree. yeah and also these requirements are classified caste wise! Well now try defending yourselves.
My theory, this is because America is the ‘super power’. They are a home to many multinational companies. Therefore constant stereotypical advertisements spoil people’s minds. But try pointing this fact out to anyone and they will deny that they are brainwashed by advertisements. Then again, truth is always bitter.
Ever wondered what our world would be like if history had been different? What will it be like if South Africa was the ‘super power’? People would link being dark to being beautiful. Curly hair would be in. Anything below 6 feet would be considered short and being plump would be considered beautiful. Makeup would be created to make people look dark.
Or what would our world be like if an Asian country, say China was ‘super power’. Being short would be in. Having small feet would be something worth bragging about.
Surgery will be done to have chinky eyes.
Why is it not possible, in today’s world, to imagine a short, dark skinned, bushy haired, buck teethed, pimple faced, fat, girl who wears spectacles winning the Miss Universe title? At least can she have the freedom of just being herself without others adding prefixes about her looks, be it good or bad!
In conclusion is it possible to not term someone as beautiful? The minute a person is termed beautiful, everyone who doesn’t meet the criteria of beauty is termed not beautiful- ugly. Is it possible to accept all morphological appearances with out separating them into pretty and terrible because, let me tell you, constantly comparing yourself to a model on a glossy magazine cover is no fun. One more thing all this starts very young...i'd say television, computers and movies have a great impact on children and adults but i'll save that topic for the next entry.
After all true beauty lies in the heart and not in the body…. What do u think?

Coming Of The Agricultural Era
The coming of the agricultural era signified a major change in the course of human existence on earth.
yeah wondering how the agricultural era signified a major change in course?
well... with the concept of agriculture came the concept owning nature. owning a piece of land... protecting it from other fellow humans... growing what they wanted. I'd say this is the fundamental idea which has lead to today's calamities.
During the hunter gatherers era they looked at nature as something beyond their control. They saw themselves as part of the environment, as one of the many beings on earth and coexisted. They ,were very sensitive towards nature, never hunted in the during the breeding season.
The first idea of owning something of nature comes from the pastorals. The came the settled agriculture where the blocked of land and claimed to own it. the agrarians looked at nature as something that could be tamed and brought under control.
The best way is to live sustainably....we are right now met with a diverged road are we going to choose the conventional capitalist way and the road back to nature? i'll tell you my choice definitely the road back to nature. where i can be part of the environment again, take as little as possible and give back what i take in someway or the other...

Sivaji The Time Waster!!!
Sivaji ....hmmm what do i say about something which absolutely doesn't count as a movie?
it has nothing a movie should have .... there is no story nor is there equal chances for other actors in the movie. It's against females or something like that i think .. rajni asks for a traditional south indian girls and then *poof* there is shreya reddy only there for the songs to stand and dance in 2 pieces !! she has nothing else to do !! the first half the is nothing to review about the keep saying pazhakalam vaangka...like some serial it goes on n on!and colour wat kind of an hero would want to change his natural skin colour to white just because the heroine asked him to??? shows the instability and weakness and wanting to belong of the hero. Rajni constantly refers to himself as 2 great heroes of tamil industry ! Sivaji and M G Ramachandran (MGR) i can assure u he has none nothing in the steps of acting to be compared with them ! i loved Rajni in mundru mudichi i'd say amazing acting... the comedian Vivek's role seems to have been let to hang loose he is more of an sidekick to the hero having no importance of his own ...... overall i'd say SIVAJI is a film of few loose and one tied thread! and u wanna watch it and your friends say and u think you are intelligent then please may i ask you to leave your brains behind....
a must read rajni fan or no fan it's amazing!!!

Varagu experiment part 2
so yeah to continue it…I came back home and after three months built huge square pot kind of a thing with bricks and cement and planted varagu seeds in it. It grew pretty well and after this there are no sad stories of failure. =) it grew very well…oh yeah I forgot to mention all these are organically grown with no additional fertilizers and not even compost. As I said before it’s a 4 month crop and it’s almost ready for harvest now another 15 days or so then I can harvest them. I am feeling so excited right now.
What’s fascinating is that a single seed can yield so many seeds when planted!!!. Watching the process of crop growth is very exciting and I learnt many things during the process like how much water to pour during the different stages and other plants which can be planted with that. I avoided planting millets and other crops because this was the first time I was seeing the plant. I had only seen the seeds at krishna’s farm. So will let u guys know when the varagu is ready for harvest….
This is one happy story…..by the way krishna’s crops failed for 3 years consequently but the forth year his whole farm was blooming and this farm had the highest yield =D..that’s another happy story.. will keep you updated..
bye bye for now

Varagu Experiment School Part 1
yes yes i thought varagu deserved a little praise since it's growing so nicely now.
varagu is an indegenius crop which used to be there even before rice came to india (yes rice is not native to india). It's very hardy doesn't need much water, needs good sunshine yeilds a lot and also the growth period is 4 months. the most suitable crop for india.
It all started when I met krishna of auroville. i was very inspired by him and my love for growing plants and gardens grew soo much that i wanted to do farming. i was speaking to krishna abt this and he gave me organic seeds of varagu, horsetail millet, 3 kinds of corn and bean seeds. anant and karthik were also interested in growing varagu so on the way bak to chennai in the bus we were talking abt this and we were discussing about a good place for planting these. it hit me that school was the best place possible because all three of us had to come the daily. the others also thought it was a good idea and we went abt clearing a space for varagu. Sadly K lost interest in growing varagu with myself and anant i dunno the reasons i just felt sad. so anyways ant and myself went abt planting varagu in skl, we planted a little late. varagu finally let out abt 15 small shoots 20 days after planting. it so happens that the crop failed because the soil was not good enough for varagu (there was only a layer of soil, we had chosen a dump area). i was feeling a bit down after this i spent loooong hours thinking abt it and how ppl easily change due to peer pressure and all this hey i am too tired to write the second part of the experiment will write later
this is sangeetha saying tata
